Bloodborne pathogens are microorganisms (bacteria, parasites, viruses, fungi, etc.) present in human blood that can cause disease. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration defines bloodborne pathogens as:"Infectious microorganisms in human blood that can cause disease in humans. These pathogens include, but are not limited to, hepatitis B (HBV), hepatitis C (HCV) and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)."This is a health and safety programme, has been designed to enable a full and detailed understanding of the range of blood bourne pathogens, developing safe practice, procedures and the safe disposal and segregation of clinical waste.Target Audience: -All personnel who are delivering treatments in a clinical or salon setting and where clients many come into contact with blood bourne pathogens.Pre Requisite : Level 3 Beauty or equivalent
