A brief description about this Activity.

By the end of the course delegates will understand the following:- Definition of accidents/incidents/near miss- Implications of accidents- Employer and Employee responsibilities under the Health and Safety Legislation- Legal requirements for risk assessment- HSE Enforcement / Powers of the HSE- How to identify hazards and risks- The Risk assessment process- Evaluate risk and introduce appropriate control measures- Positive risk taking- Risk assessment in practice (Domiciliary care setting)Delegates will also be shown how to complete the following Risk Assessment documentation (practical sessions) and assessed as competent :- Environmental- Personal care- Nutrition & hydration- Medication- M & H- Housekeeping- Finance- Social- Hospital discharge- Specialised i.e. MUST, Waterlow, PEG, Falls, Choking, choking, catheter and convene, stoma, tracheostomy, oxygen- Lone working
