Overview for Pressure Care

A brief description about this Activity.

The pressure care training has been designed to be engaging and interactive and is suitable for both care staff and senior staff working in health and social care settings.The initial part of the training incorporates a number of exercises to provide delegates with a greater understanding of the structure and function of the skin; what is a pressure sore and causes; who is at risk and areas of the body which are most vulnerable.Delegates learn about the grading system using realistic models which allow them to visualise and understand the different stages.We complete the course looking at the effective management and prevention of pressure ulcers (Care planning, risk assessment and SSKIN principles); treatments for pressure ulcers, reporting and recording requirements and relevant legislation.In addition, Senior staff will be supported to understand and complete relevant risk assessments associated with pressure sores including Malnutrition Universal Screening tool (MUST) and Waterlow risk assessment.Throughout the training we provide delegates with practical advice and solutions in relation to pressure care.
