A brief description about this Activity.
The psychological, cognitive, physiological, social and spiritual benefits of interacting with nature have been well documented in research and literature in recent years. However, the global Pandemic lockdowns have heightened people’s awareness of the regulating properties of nature. Many gained a new appreciation for their local green or blue spaces under Covid restrictions, while others longed for increased contact with the natural world after lockdown. Joanna's unique interactive and experiential seminar aims to increase participants’ understanding of the importance of human connection to nature and gain insight into how that engagement can both nourish wellbeing and help towards trauma resolution. The training will also help participants explore practical ways to integrate nature into clinical practice while focusing on regulating the Nervous Systems of both therapist and client. While this seminar is not designed as a full training in Outdoor Psychotherapy it will provide a valuable resource to those considering taking their clients outdoors and also aims to provide and a theoretical, trauma informed lens, for those already practicing outdoors.
