A Caldicott Guardian is a senior person responsible for protecting the confidentiality of people's health and care information and making sure it is used properly. (UK CGC) This course covers an overview of the Caldicott’s role and responsibilities , through the challenges of information sharing for direct care, the relationship between the Senior Information Risk Owner, reporting to the Board or Governing Body, and implementing the Caldicott2 & 3 reviews across the organisation. Provides an update on the legal framework and national reviews.
