Overview for Basic Life Support

A brief description about this Activity.

The course is to introduce to learners the initial assistance or treatment given to casualties. Casualty is someone who is injured or suddenly taken ill. Essential life support is needed until they can be given full medical care at a hospital. Basic life support can be provided by trained medical personnel, including competent care workers, who can provide CPR. Basic life support also requires knowledge and skills in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). It is done with automated external defibrillators (AED) and relieving the airway.
