A brief description about this Activity.
As therapists, we know that meeting the identified goals couples have, like bettering communication and increasing physical and emotional intimacy are often the result of a deeper, more authentic and respectful connection between two people. Couples inherently know they want these things in their relationship but walking with them toward these goals can be like trying to find your way in the dark. Without a clear sense of purpose and intention, unforeseen challenges, triggers and upsets that come out of nowhere can knock us way off course. Even if both partners want to work together to better their relationship, it can be difficult to get to the space where change starts to occur – and lasts – on both a behavioural and systemic level, one that feels truly transformative for both partners. Consciously Aware Couples Therapy: Integrating Existential and Transpersonal Therapy With Couples can be the difference between quick fixes and finding a few common interests and a deeper, more significant sense of connection, and lasting change. Read Less Existential and transpersonal-oriented therapies offer both the therapist, and the partners, the opportunity to gain a grounded sense of consciousness with who each individual is in the relationship. Couples often forget that they were attracted to their partner based on the same unique characteristics that they now may currently dislike. They lose sense of what the world might look like from their partner’s eyes, how they got where they are and the way they influence one another. Consciously Aware Couples Therapy: Integrating Existential and Transpersonal Therapy with Couples teaches couples therapists ways to honour the individual in the relationship, and the relationship as a system that’s been uniquely created by two. In this training, Consciously Aware Couples Therapy: Integrating Existential and Transpersonal Therapy with Couples, you’ll learn what Existential and Transpersonal therapies are, their history and significance in the field of psychotherapy, what these therapy lenses look like and the ways they offer therapists, and couples, transformational views of the self, the partnership and the world around them. You’ll learn how to create a deeper sense of conscious awareness with your couples, engaging them in their own personal awareness, contemplation and curiosity for their partners, and you’ll also explore ways to be a more consciously aware therapist yourself. Consciously Aware Couples Therapy: Integrating Existential and Transpersonal Therapy with Couples will open the door for an entirely new kind of relationship your clients can have with one another and within their own sense of self.
