A brief description about this Activity.
This 1-hour module explores the traditional approaches used to treat eating disorders and identifies the problematic aspects of these approaches. We will explore the ties to patriarchal and oppressive systems in place during the origin of the theoretical approaches to eating disorder treatment, and shed light on the need to update these systems based on modern day needs and science based, trauma-informed research. This module will establish the need for the holistic approaches and establish the possibilities that a new paradigm of treatment holds.
