A brief description about this Activity.
This course provides learners with the information and guidance to safely move and position service users. It also provides them with the knowledge and understanding of the importance of risk assessments, the potential hazards, and the key legislation relevant to moving and handling. They should be able to do it in a way that promotes the service users' independence, dignity and efficient mobility. It is recommended that learners avoid all tasks that may involve the risk of injury and work in line with the manual handling legislation mended in 2002 and the principles for safe moving and handling. Moving and handling tasks should be carried out only after specialist training. They will be accountable for their actions and must ensure they are trained and assessed as competent before agreeing to do anything.
