A brief description about this Activity.
With the ever increasing technological world we live in, suburban expansions, and environmental issues, it seems the human connection with nature has dwindled. While the 2020 global pandemic has had a significant negative impact on all our lives, it has also brought many positives, such as encouraging people to get outdoors, to reconnect with our natural surroundings, and the environmental impact has given our planet much needed time to do some healing of its own. So, with many now recognizing the natural healing power of nature, how can we harness its power in our work as therapists? There has been significant research in recent years to support the positive effect nature has on mental and physical wellbeing. However, in the last 30 years little progress has been made in developing an ethical framework for Nature Therapy practices and there is still much to be learned. This workshop explores the practical and ethical elements to consider in the safe practice of Nature Therapy.
