This is a 1 day accredited course on Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) which delves into the diagnosis, and the direct aftermath of how schools and settings should support children and young people. What are the reasonable adjustments for settings to adopt and ensure young people with this condition can thrive. This training is fully interactive and allows you to use resources designed by us to write support plans. The complicity of the condition and the variations is completely covered in this one day course. The variety of the most up-to-date research is discussed and adapted to be used within a day-to-day basis with people displaying PDA features. Quite often the difficulties professionals face with supporting pupils with this condition is the lack of understanding in how the condition presents and then how others around the young person behaves towards them. This course looks into the ‘team around the pupil’ and how to co-operate with each other for a more joined up approach, which is the key to success.
