A brief description about this Activity.

This course is for all care staff and family members who support clients with dementia and suffer from stress and distress symptoms give them an understanding of what stress and distress is and how best to support clients. • Identify the common types, causes and triggers for distressed behaviour. • Contribute to recording and understanding distressed behaviours using an antecedent, behaviour and consequences approach. • Describe how to respond when a person with dementia is expressing Understand that when a person is expressing stress and distress they can be communicating unmet needs. • Recognizes the importance of gaining access to professional support and interventions to alleviate stress and distress.
