Overview for The Core Elements of Trauma and Its Impact

A brief description about this Activity.

This session will introduce the core elements of trauma including the range including physical and sexual violence, rape, domestic abuse, gender based trauma, enforced displacement and intergenerational trauma. In addition it  will examine the impact of trauma and how it links to Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. It will also explore the impact of  dissociation and shame on the self and on relationships, including the therapeutic one.
