A brief description about this Activity.
Sibling matters underlie issues at the core of many clinical difficulties. Unfortunately, sibling issues are rarely discussed in therapy even though past and present sibling dynamics are an integral part of adulthood adjustment, personality, mental health, and well-being. This is particularly disturbing considering the overwhelming research highlighting the unrepeatable and inimitable role played by siblings throughout life. Using the latest research and clinical work in family dynamics, this seminar examines multiple angles of integrating sibling issues in therapy. Beyond assisting in enhancing the sibling bond, the seminar will demonstrate how past and present sibling issues affect adulthood emotional and psychological well-being in drastic ways. Using theoretical perspectives, a wealth of empirical data, testing instruments, and clinical experience, participants will experience a hands-on, interactive, thorough examination of these issues, along with obtaining tools and techniques that can immediately be implemented in practice.
