Overview for Working with Sibling Loss with Val Parker

A brief description about this Activity.

The loss of a sibling is traumatic and devastating and yet its impact is frequently underestimated and overlooked. Whether siblings are lost through death, miscarriage, termination, adoption, migration, or family splits, they are often not talked about, and as a result these missing siblings become buried in the psyche and can easily be missed in therapy. Yet, locating and working with sibling loss can be a vital key to unlocking and understanding unexplained symptoms such as low self-esteem, chronic depression, or an inability to thrive. In this day workshop our popular and esteemed trainer Val Parker, author of A Group Analytic Exploration of the Sibling Matrix: How Siblings Shape our Lives, will be offering you an opportunity to explore this subject in depth. The workshop will be interactive and informal. The teaching will be richly illustrated with case examples, and you will also be encouraged to bring experiences from your personal life and your work to add to the exploration and discussion. As this will be an interactive and powerful day you are strongly encouraged to attend the live event.
