Practice Foundations

Practice Foundations is an on-demand online training programme for bookkeepers who want to establish strong, compliant foundations for a bookkeeping practice. Learners complete short video lessons and structured workbook activities covering goal setting, business structure options, insurance and practising certificates, software selection, letters of engagement, data handling, legal protection, AML requirements, proof of ID, pricing basics, registering as an agent, finding first clients, sales calls and onboarding. Learning is applied directly to the learner’s own practice, culminating in submission of a completed Practice Foundations Checklist and a short “next steps” action plan. Participants finish with improved business readiness.

Prerequisites for enrolment
Foundational bookkeeping knowledge (e.g. ICB, AAT, IAB), interest in starting a bookkeeping practice or reviewing their current practice setup. Basic familiarity with email and common office software (e.g. excel) is required.
