Advanced Electrocardiogram, Practical ECG Recording & Electrode Placement CPD Training

This practical CPD training course is designed to provide healthcare professionals and learners with the knowledge and hands-on skills required to safely perform and record a standard 12-lead electrocardiogram (ECG) in accordance with current UK clinical standards and Society for Cardiac Science and Technology (SCST) guidelines.

The course covers patient preparation, infection prevention and control, professional responsibilities, informed consent, ECG machine setup, lead identification, accurate electrode placement, recognition of common recording errors and artefacts, and safe ECG recording procedures. Learners will also develop an understanding of basic ECG rhythm recognition and the importance of escalating abnormal findings appropriately within their scope of practice.

This course is suitable for healthcare assistants, support workers, carers, phlebotomists, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals involved in patient monitoring and clinical care.
