Core of Knowledge (Laser & IPL Safety) Online CPD Course

This online Core of Knowledge course is designed for aesthetic practitioners, clinic owners and healthcare professionals working with, or responsible for, laser and IPL systems in aesthetic, medical and clinical environments.

The course covers the essential principles of laser and IPL safety, including laser and IPL technology, wavelengths, pulse duration, fluence, spot size, laser classifications, selective photothermolysis, chromophores, thermal relaxation time and how optical radiation interacts with tissue. Learners will also explore skin response to heat, Fitzpatrick skin types, and the differences between laser, IPL and LED systems.

The course is designed to build and refresh knowledge and support safe, informed practice.

Entry requirements: Participants should have a good understanding of skin types, including the Fitzpatrick scale, and a strong command of written and spoken English, as the course is delivered and assessed in English.
