The focus for 2026 is shifting from achieving EPR coverage to realising measurable improvements for staff and patients. National strategies such as What Good Looks Like, the NHS Long Term Plan and the Plan for Digital Health and Care 2022 set the direction, but local delivery now determines success. With more than 90% of Trusts live with an EPR, the priority is turning digital ambition into operational outcomes across every ICS and Trust.
