While it can be emotionally challenging to fail a social work student, for the student, practice educator and team, it is significantly more difficult when the decision to pass or fail a student is less clear.
This one-hour event will support practice educators to consider those situations where there are clear strengths, but also where there are areas for development that need to be considered in determining if the placement assessment criteria have been met.
Our speaker, Paula Beesley, will consider how practice educators can ensure that they are providing the best support to enable students to address areas for development.
The session will support confident, evidence-based decision making that enables practice educators to fail where appropriate and pass with recommendations for future development and practice where appropriate.
