We looked for the legal entity operating the website and its registration details on the pages reviewed. The About AAA page states that AAA, the American Accreditation Association, is authorised by "the US government- state corporation commission of the commonwealth of Virginia State" to transact business under Title 13.1 of the Code of Virginia. No registration or incorporation number of any kind was displayed on the pages reviewed.

We searched the Companies House register for "AAA Accreditation" and related terms. No UK-registered company matching this organisation was found. As AAA is not a UK-registered company, Companies House status and consistency of UK filings do not apply and were not assessed.

We looked for evidence of other businesses connected to AAA and whether any connection is disclosed. AAA Academy, at academy.aaa-accreditation.org, operates under the same organisation name, address, telephone numbers and email address as the main site, and sells training and certification courses and programmes directly to individuals. AAA separately accredits third-party training and education providers, some offering courses in similar subject areas. AAA's published Safeguarding Impartiality Policy addresses AAA's own training service delivery, stating this is managed by offering only generic courses and by "not offering training courses as a precondition or guarantee of accreditation".

We looked for a published assessment framework. Two documents are published and directly accessible from the Documents page. "Guideline for Accreditation of Training Providers" (G-TRP-01), based on ASTM E2659, sets out structural, management system, personnel, course and assessment, and certificate issuance requirements for training providers. "General Requirements for Accreditation" (R-GEN-01) sets out the accreditation process applicable across AAA's accreditation programmes.

We looked for published pricing or a pricing basis. None is published; the Get a Quote page provides only a form to request a quotation.

We looked for terms governing the accreditation service. "General Requirements for Accreditation" covers confidentiality, application and assessment, extension of scope, renewal, suspension, reduction and withdrawal of accreditation, notification of change, liability, indemnity, and the obligations of both AAA and the applicant, including that accreditation fees are stated as non-refundable other than by written request considered at AAA's discretion. The same document states that signing or accepting an application form binds the applicant to "the AAA Terms and Conditions of Accreditation", a separately titled document not independently located on the pages reviewed.

We looked for a published privacy policy. One is published, covering what personal data is collected, how it is used, legal bases, retention and cookies.

We looked for a published complaints policy. None was found as a standalone document. The Safeguarding Impartiality Policy states that AAA ensures "an impartial complaints and appeals procedure which is open to all stakeholders", but no separate complaints policy or procedure document was located on the pages reviewed.

We checked whether the website is served securely. It loads over HTTPS.

We looked for what the organisation states about individual assessment. Accreditation announcements on the website state a specific accredited scope tied to a named course or programme in each case, for example "the following scope: : Aviation Theoretics" and "the following scope: : Certified Personal Trainer". "General Requirements for Accreditation" states that every accredited body "is issued with a certificate and schedule of accreditation detailing the scope of activities".

We looked for whether accredited activities carry a unique number and can be verified. The published Accredited Organisations directory lists accredited organisations with an associated record showing, per entry, "Accreditation No.", scope, expiry date and status, browsable without a login.

We looked for what the organisation states about review or renewal. "General Requirements for Accreditation" states that accreditation certificates are valid for two years, that AAA carries out on-site surveillance visits annually, and that a re-assessment covering the whole scope of accreditation is conducted before the certificate's validity ends.

We attempted to check ICO registration. The ICO register of fee payers requires a form-based search that could not be completed within this review. This is flagged below.
