Commercial identification and contactability

The legal entity behind this organisation is COURSE ACCREDITATION LTD, Company Number 14516935, incorporated on 30 November 2022 as a private limited company registered in England and Wales.

The registered office address is Office 5, 25 Hyde Gardens, Eastbourne, England, BN21 4PX. This address is consistent across Companies House, the website footer, the contact page, and the address recorded in the ASA ruling (see Section 13).

The organisation publishes a telephone number, an email address and a physical trading address on its contact page and across the website footer.

The current sole active director is Matthew David Hammond (date of birth January 1984), appointed 14 December 2025, with identity verification confirmed as complete at Companies House. The former director, Linda Mary Payne (date of birth January 1956), appointed on incorporation, resigned on 1 March 2026.

The website footer and contact page publish the trading address, telephone, and email address. However, the footer copyright notice references the trading name "Course Accreditation" without stating the full registered company name (COURSE ACCREDITATION LTD) and company number. Under the Companies Act 2006, ss.1200–1206, UK companies are required to display their registered company name and number on their websites and business communications. Training providers are advised to verify the legal entity before entering into a commercial relationship.

Transparency of assessment framework

No published assessment framework, criteria document, or standards document was identified on the website at the time of this review. The website describes the accreditation service as a subscription through which training providers submit course materials or manuals for review, but does not publish the criteria against which submissions are assessed, the qualifications or experience required of assessors, the methodology applied to individual course evaluation, or any quality standard underpinning the accreditation decision.

The About Us page states that assessors can evaluate materials "swiftly and efficiently" and references "multiple years experience working in the industry," but provides no published framework or verifiable standard against which that assessment is conducted.

The absence of a published assessment framework means that training providers and consumers are not able to independently verify what standard an accreditation represents, or how the decision to grant or refuse accreditation is made.

The CPD Register considers the publication of an assessment framework to be a fundamental indicator of transparency in a CPD accreditation organisation.

Pricing transparency

Subscription pricing is published on the website. The organisation offers a monthly subscription starting at £20 per month and an annual subscription at £200 per year, described as providing unlimited course accreditations across any industry. A fast-track processing service is available as an additional purchase, capped at four manuals per day and not available at weekends. A separate product, the Level 3 Award in Education and Training (AET), is priced at £199.99.

The homepage states that there is no sign-up fee. Pricing is accessible from the main navigation without requiring login or payment.

The Terms and Conditions confirm the refund position: a full refund (minus third-party charges) is available where no accreditation resources have been submitted and a written cancellation request is sent within 14 days of purchase. The Terms also state: "In accordance with law, no refunds will be given as businesses are exempt from Consumer Contracts (formerly distance selling) regulations." Training providers are advised to review the full terms before purchasing.

Terms and conditions

Terms and Conditions are published on the website and are accessible from the footer navigation without requiring login or payment. The published terms address cancellation, refund entitlements, intellectual property, user rights, and digital product licensing. The page metadata indicates the terms were last modified on 8 May 2026.

The terms include provisions specific to the accreditation relationship: accreditation ceases automatically upon cancellation or lapse of subscription; all previously accredited courses must be resubmitted and individually re-approved under any reinstated subscription; and any claim of accreditation beyond approved courses under an active subscription constitutes a breach of the terms.

However, the terms contain the following statement: "In accordance with law, no refunds will be given as businesses are exempt from Consumer Contracts (formerly distance selling) regulations." Training providers should review this position carefully before entering into a subscription.

The terms do not include a clearly dated version number, which means prospective customers cannot readily identify which version applies at a given point in time.

The terms also state that where services are purchased, "a separate agreement will be executed between you and Course Accreditation which will be subject to a specific set of terms and conditions." This means the published terms may not represent the complete contractual framework applicable to all accreditation engagements. Training providers are advised to request and review any such separate agreement before committing.

Individual course assessment

The organisation's subscription model provides for individual submission and review of course materials or manuals. The Terms and Conditions confirm that accreditation applies only to courses specifically submitted and approved under an active subscription, and that previously approved courses do not automatically carry forward upon reinstatement. This indicates that the model requires individual course submission rather than operating as blanket provider accreditation.

However, the website does not publish a publicly accessible register of individually accredited courses, which would allow consumers to verify whether a specific course they are considering holds current accredited status. The website features a directory of accredited training providers, but this is a provider-level directory rather than a course-level accreditation register.

CPD Index — dissolved legal entity

The website homepage displays a "CPD INDEX" badge linking to cpd-index.com, and the Terms and Conditions state that upon accreditation a subscriber will receive "the CPD Index logo" as part of the benefits of accreditation.

Companies House records confirm that CPD INDEX LTD (Company Number 15507430) was dissolved on 29 July 2025. The company was incorporated on 20 February 2024 and was registered at Unit 82a James Carter Road, Mildenhall, Bury St. Edmunds, England, IP28 7DE. It was dissolved less than 18 months after incorporation. CPD INDEX LTD and Course Accreditation Ltd do not share any common director or Person with Significant Control in the public Companies House record.

The nature of the commercial or contractual relationship between Course Accreditation Ltd and CPD INDEX LTD has not been published on the Course Accreditation website.

The continued display of the CPD Index badge, and the continued description of the CPD Index logo as a benefit of accreditation, after the dissolution of CPD INDEX LTD on 29 July 2025, means that training providers receiving and displaying this badge or logo are presenting a mark associated with a dissolved legal entity. A dissolved company no longer exists as a legal entity, cannot enter into new contracts, and cannot maintain or stand behind any trustmark or certification programme it may previously have operated.

CPD Training Providers and consumers should be aware that the CPD Index logo or badge currently offered as part of a Course Accreditation subscription does not have the backing of an active legal entity.

Review and renewal

The organisation operates a subscription-based model under which accreditation is tied to an active subscription. The Terms and Conditions state that accreditation ceases automatically upon cancellation or lapse of the subscription, and that all previously accredited courses must be resubmitted and individually re-approved under any reinstated subscription.

No published proactive review cycle was identified that addresses how the organisation reviews accredited course content for continued compliance with its standards during an active subscription period. The Terms and Conditions note that customers are responsible for returning manuals with recommended amendments in a timely manner and that failure to do so may result in suspension or cancellation, but this is reactive rather than proactive in nature.

The absence of a stated proactive review cycle means it is not publicly clear whether accredited courses are periodically assessed for currency and continued compliance independently of the subscriber's own actions.

Sale of training courses or materials

Course Accreditation sells its own training courses and materials through its website. These include the Level 3 Award in Education and Training (AET), a regulated qualification delivered via TQUK (Training Qualifications UK), TQUK Centre Number 19750565473, priced at £199.99. The AET course is promoted under a prominent navigation link ("AET Award Level 3") positioned alongside the organisation's accreditation subscription services in the main menu.

The website also operates a Shop (https://course-accreditation.com/shop/) through which additional products are offered for sale.
The organisation therefore operates simultaneously as an accreditation body — assessing and approving the training materials of third-party training providers — and as a direct provider of training qualifications and related materials to the same market.

The CPD Register's methodology identifies this as a structural concern. An accreditation organisation that also sells training products in the same market as those it accredits presents a structural question about the independence of its accreditation function. Training providers submitting course materials for accreditation should consider this context when evaluating the terms under which their materials are assessed and handled.

Financial relationships with third-party service providers

The organisation operates a published affiliate referral programme, accessible at https://course-accreditation.com/work-with-us/. The programme offers a commission of £5 per referred training provider to any subscriber who promotes Course Accreditation's subscriptions using a unique coupon code. The programme is openly disclosed on the website with a dedicated page and associated affiliate terms and conditions. This disclosure is noted as a positive transparency measure.

Training providers and consumers encountering recommendations for Course Accreditation's services should be aware that the recommending party may be receiving commission for the referral.

Additionally, the website's homepage and insurance-related pages displayed logos of named insurance providers in a context that the ASA found implied formal arrangements with those insurers. The ASA upheld a complaint on this basis (see Section 13). The organisation confirmed to the ASA that no formal arrangements existed with any of the named insurers.

Ownership or control relationships with aligned commercial interests

Companies House records establish the following factual position regarding the current director of Course Accreditation Ltd and his connection to a training provider displayed on the organisation's own website.

Current directorship and ownership

Matthew David Hammond (date of birth January 1984) is the sole active director of Course Accreditation Ltd (14516935), appointed 14 December 2025. He was registered as a Person with Significant Control on 1 March 2026, holding more than 25% but not more than 50% of shares. The PSC register also carries an active statement that the company "knows or believes it has a PSC but has not yet had confirmation," indicating that the full ownership picture has not yet been formally confirmed in the public record.

Connection to an accredited training provider

Companies House records confirm that Mr Hammond was the sole founder, sole initial shareholder (holding 12 of 12 shares), and PSC holding 75% or more of shares, voting rights, and the right to appoint or remove directors of HAMPSON TRAINING LTD (Company Number 15060304), incorporated 9 August 2023. This is established by the IN01 incorporation document filed at Companies House on 9 August 2023.

HAMPSON TRAINING LTD (15060304) was struck off on 13 January 2026 and dissolved on 20 January 2026, confirmed by the Final Gazette Notice published by Companies House.

The Course Accreditation website at https://course-accreditation.com/ prominently displays Hampson Training Academy as a named testimonial provider in its "Training Providers Using Our Trustmark" section, accompanied by the Hampson Training Academy logo. The website was accessed on 13 May 2026.

No disclosure of the relationship between the current director of Course Accreditation Ltd and Hampson Training Academy is published on the Course Accreditation website.

Structural position

The factual position established from these primary sources is that the current director of Course Accreditation Ltd previously held 75% or more of a training company that is displayed as an accredited customer of the accreditation organisation he now directs. This is a structural conflict of interest of the type The CPD Register's methodology identifies at Danger level: the same individual occupies the position of both accreditor and, through his former majority ownership of a displayed accredited provider, accredited party. No disclosure of this relationship is made on the organisation's website.

Consistency of filings with advertised activity

The organisation's Companies House filings are consistent with its advertised commercial activity. The company is registered under SIC code 85600 (Educational support services), which is broadly consistent with the provision of course accreditation services.

The most recent accounts on file cover the period to 30 November 2024, with the next accounts due by 31 August 2026. The most recent confirmation statement is dated 23 March 2026, with the next due by 6 April 2027. All filings appear to be current and up to date at the time of this review. There is no evidence of dormant accounts or inconsistency between the company's statutory filings and its advertised commercial activity.

Website status

The website at https://course-accreditation.com/ was accessible and functional at the time of review. The organisation relaunched its website in May 2026, as noted in social media posts dated 12 May 2026, with page metadata indicating multiple pages were updated on 8 May 2026.

The website includes a main navigation menu, subscription and pricing pages, an About Us page, Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policy, Refund and Returns Policy, FAQ, contact page, and a directory of accredited providers.

The website footer copyright notice uses the trading name "Course Accreditation" but does not state the full registered company name (COURSE ACCREDITATION LTD) or company registration number. Under the Companies Act 2006, ss.1200–1206, UK limited companies are required to display their registered name on their website and in business communications. Training providers are advised to verify the legal entity and company number before entering into a commercial relationship.

Regulatory rulings and public enforcement records

An ASA ruling against Course Accreditation Ltd was published on 13 May 2026.

Ruling reference: A25-1322901
Issuing body: Advertising Standards Authority (ASA)
Date of ruling: 13 May 2026
Outcome: Upheld on both issues
Direct link: https://www.asa.org.uk/rulings/course-accreditation-ltd-a25-1322901-course-accreditation-ltd.html

The ruling concerned a website (seen 18 December 2025) and a paid-for Google search advertisement (seen 19 January 2026). The ruling forms part of the ASA's wider group of investigations into companies offering CPD accreditation services.

Issue 1 — Upheld
Claims in both the website and the paid Google advertisement were found to be misleading and unsubstantiated. These included claims that assessors had "over 200 years of combined experience working in the industry," that the organisation was "globally recognised," that it was "recognised worldwide," and that it was the "UK-leading body." The ASA found that the evidence supplied did not demonstrate that assessors collectively had over 200 years of experience in assessing and accrediting courses, that the organisation had widespread global recognition, or that it held the largest market share compared to other accreditation bodies in the UK.

The ads were found to breach CAP Code (Edition 12) rules 3.1 (Misleading advertising), 3.7 (Substantiation), and 3.33 (Comparisons with identifiable competitors).

Issue 2 — Upheld
Claims on the website that accreditation was recognised by insurers, that the organisation had "trusted insurance partners," and that accreditation could help consumers secure training or therapist insurance, were found to be misleading. The display of logos of named insurance providers — including PolicyBee, QBE, 4u, Insync Insurance, Hiscox, Train Sure, AXA, and Finch — was found to imply formal arrangements with those organisations that did not exist. The organisation confirmed to the ASA that it had no formal arrangements, partnerships, or referral mechanisms with any insurer.

The ads were found to breach CAP Code (Edition 12) rules 3.1 (Misleading advertising) and 3.7 (Substantiation).

ASA direction
The ASA directed that the advertisements must not appear again in the form complained of, and that the organisation must hold adequate documentary evidence before making objective claims about assessor experience, global recognition, comparative market standing, or insurance-related recognition, and must not imply arrangements with other organisations unless such arrangements exist.

Distinguishing CPD from regulated qualifications

Course Accreditation sells and delivers the Level 3 Award in Education and Training (AET) as a regulated qualification through TQUK (Training Qualifications UK), TQUK Centre Number 19750565473, priced at £199.99. The AET is an Ofqual-regulated qualification. It is presented prominently in the main navigation of the website alongside the organisation's CPD accreditation subscription services, under the same "Course Accreditation" brand.

This organisation therefore operates simultaneously as a CPD accreditation provider and as a regulated qualification delivery centre within the same commercial structure.

The Terms and Conditions contain an explicit acknowledgement that the AET Level 3 "is government-regulated by OFQUAL," and state that Course Accreditation is unable to accredit AET Level 3 teaching manuals through its own accreditation service. This distinction is noted as a positive statement of the regulatory boundary.

However, a training provider or consumer visiting the website may not immediately distinguish between the organisation's function as a CPD accreditation body and its function as a regulated qualification delivery centre, as both are presented under the same brand without prominent distinguishing signposting.

Consumers considering any course advertised as "Level 3" through this organisation should verify whether the course in question is the Ofqual-regulated AET qualification delivered via TQUK, or a CPD-accredited course. These are materially different in the nature and recognition of the outcome they confer.

Use of the word "Accreditation" — Annex A sensitive words

The company's registered name is COURSE ACCREDITATION LTD and its website address is course-accreditation.com. The word "Accreditation" appears in both the registered company name and the domain name.

"Accreditation" is listed as a sensitive word under Annex A of the UK Government's guidance on incorporation and names (https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/incorporation-and-names/annex-a-sensitive-words-and-expressions-or-words-that-could-imply-a-connection-with-government). Use of this word in a company name requires prior approval from the relevant body specified in Annex A before the name can be registered at Companies House.

The company is registered at Companies House with this name and is currently Active, indicating that the name registration process was applied at the point of incorporation.

Training providers should be aware that the use of the word "Accreditation" in a company or trading name does not in itself indicate that the organisation is recognised by, approved by, or affiliated with any government body, statutory regulator, or national accreditation authority such as UKAS.

Prior findings reference

The CPD Register's prior findings document records concerns applicable across a number of CPD accreditation organisations in the UK market. The following categories of concern identified in that document are relevant to findings recorded in this listing: organisations that sell training materials in the same market as those they accredit (identified as a potential conflict of interest with impartiality); organisations affiliated with insurance companies or other third parties where such arrangements may not be accurately disclosed; and organisations making misleading claims about qualifications or the nature of their accreditation.

The ASA ruling against Course Accreditation Ltd (A25-1322901, 13 May 2026) forms part of a wider group investigation by the ASA into companies offering CPD accreditation services. Other organisations within that investigation group have been subject to separate rulings.
