Identity and legal status
We looked for the legal entity behind the website on the home, About Us, Contact, Privacy Policy and Terms and Conditions pages. The site names the business as "CPD Certification Centre" and does not name a registered company or display a company number on the pages reviewed. The Terms and Conditions describe CPD Certification Centre as having its "principal place of business" at Lynn Road, Ely, Cambridgeshire. A Companies House name search for "CPD Certification Centre" did not return a company of that name. The Contact page is headed "Contact The CPD Group" and gives The CPD Group's contact details, as set out in Section 2. The Privacy Policy and the Terms and Conditions give a postal address at Lynn Road, Ely, Cambridgeshire CB6 1RY, a mobile telephone number and an email address at the cpdcertificationcentre.co.uk domain. The site footer gives a different email address at the same domain and a telephone number beginning 0233. The Contact page and the contact panel on the About Us page give a telephone number beginning 0300, an email address at the thecpd.group domain and a postal address at The Old Barns, Bridge Street, Rothwell NN14 6BW. These are the telephone number, email address and head office address published on The CPD Group's website, and the panel uses the same heading and introductory text as The CPD Group's contact form: "Get in Touch Want to talk CPD? Fill out the form below to get in contact". A frequently asked question on the Contact page refers to an office in Ely, Cambridgeshire, and gives a further email address at the cpdcc.co.uk domain. We looked for a named individual identified as a contact for clients or complaints on the home, About Us, Contact, Privacy Policy and Terms and Conditions pages and did not find one. The Accreditation Framework page sets out eight standards against which activities are assessed, each with a short description, covering learning objectives and outcomes, content quality and accuracy, structure and delivery, accessibility, author expertise and credentials, learner assessment, intellectual property, and duration and CPD credit calculation. The CPD Course Accreditation page publishes 12-month plans: Starter £495 (1 course), Professional £995 (3 courses), Business £1,995 (10 courses) and Enterprise at a custom price; it states that Approved Provider registration is free. Terms and Conditions specific to the accreditation service are published, last updated May 2026, covering provider registration, accreditation of each activity type, fees and cancellation, intellectual property, use of marks and termination. We compared these Terms and Conditions with The CPD Group's published CPD Accreditation Terms and Conditions. The wording is largely different, but the two documents contain a number of the same provisions, including: a binding contract formed on submission of the Approved Provider registration form; all accreditation set to expired on the strike-off or dissolution of a UK limited company; Approved Provider accounts set to expired if chargeable services are not used within 12 months (United Kingdom) or 6 months (outside the United Kingdom), with an exception for providers using event accreditation alone; a bar on creating a new account to reset an expired one; account suspension after three consecutive failed payments; a 36-month accreditation term for webinars and podcasts, extended by purchasing a new slot; certificate QR codes that cease to be active on expiry; and, for trainer accreditation in the United Kingdom, Professional Indemnity Insurance with at least three months remaining. A Privacy Policy is published, last updated May 2026. The Privacy Policy and the Terms and Conditions each open with a notice that the document has been "drafted based on" the business model and "should be reviewed and approved by a qualified solicitor" before publication. Clause 13.2 of the Terms and Conditions states that complaints should be made in writing, will be acknowledged within 5 working days, and that the business will "endeavour to resolve" them within 28 days. The site is served over HTTPS.
The Terms and Conditions state that each course is "assessed individually" and that each accredited course is assigned "a unique CPD Certification Centre accreditation number" and listed in the directory. The CPD PSI Accredited Providers page displays eight provider entries, each with a reference in the form CPD-CC-0000, under the heading "500+ CPD Certification Centre Accredited Providers". Course accreditation plans run for 12 months; the Terms and Conditions state a 36-month accreditation term for webinars and podcasts and that Approved Provider accounts are subject to "periodic audits". An ICO register search by organisation name returned no entries. A search by the Ely postcode returned four registrations under other names.
