Identity and legal status
We looked for the legal entity behind the website on the home, About, Contact, Privacy Policy, CPD Accreditation Terms of Service and Client Complaints Handling Procedure pages. The Contact page states "The CPD Board Limited is registered in the Isle of Man, British Isles (Company Number: 138233C)". The Privacy Policy states that the company is established in the Isle of Man. An Isle of Man Companies Registry name search for "CPD Board" returned The CPD Board Limited, number 138233C, incorporated 15 July 2025, status Live, a 1931 Act company. We did not review Isle of Man filings. The Client Complaints Handling Procedure directs formal complaints to an email address at the-esg-institute.org, and the email links on the application pages point to the same domain. An Isle of Man Companies Registry name search for "ESG Institute" returned The ESG Institute Limited (136255C). The Assessment Criteria page sets out eight assessment domains, the evidence required, a four-outcome decision framework and an appeals route, and records a last review on 8 April 2026. Fees are published in section 3.1 of the CPD Accreditation Terms of Service: Professional and Not-For-Profit provider accreditation $180 a year, Business $300 a year, and per-programme accreditation $97, or $50 after the first two for accredited providers. The CPD Accreditation Terms of Service (latest update 29 March 2026), a Privacy Policy (latest update 29 March 2026) and a Client Complaints Handling Procedure (latest update 29 March 2026) are published. The site is served over HTTPS. The About page states "Each application is individually reviewed by an assessor". The Assessment Criteria state that each certificate contains "a unique certificate identifier", and the Certificate and Seal Usage Guidelines state that each per-programme certificate carries a unique certificate code. The Verification page offers a certificate lookup by code. On the accreditation term, the About page states "Accreditation runs for one year, with annual renewal" and the Assessment Criteria state "Standard accreditation validity is one year"; the Terms of Service state "Provider accreditation is valid for three years from the date of issue" with annual fees, and per-programme accreditation one year. The Privacy Policy states that the company is registered with the Isle of Man Information Commissioner (registration number R853647).
