Assessment framework. The FAQs page states that each submission is "reviewed and assessed against our assessment criteria". The "What is CPD accreditation?" page sets out an assessment process section listing four areas that training and events are reviewed against: independent review, educational value, coherent structure, and clear learning objectives and outcomes. We looked for the assessment criteria themselves, published in readable form, on the home, about, become-accredited, what-is-cpd-accreditation, FAQs and membership terms pages, and did not find them on the pages reviewed.
Individual assessment. The FAQs page and the "What is CPD accreditation?" page state that each CPD training course or event is reviewed against the organisation's assessment criteria.
Pricing. The become-accredited page states that the organisation provides "different membership levels to suit needs and budgets", determined by an initial dialogue and recommendations based on the number of training activities. The published membership terms state that membership fees are payable in advance, that services are offered in various membership categories allowing a maximum number of submissions per category, and that membership fees differ for each category. We looked for published prices or fee figures on the home, about, become-accredited, what-is-cpd-accreditation, FAQs and membership terms pages, and did not find any on the pages reviewed.
Terms and conditions. Two sets of terms are published. Website terms of use are published and dated "Last modified: January 2018". General Membership Service Terms and Conditions for CPD Certification are published on the membership terms page and as a PDF, with a publication date of 1 July 2024. The membership terms cover application, duration and renewal, membership fees, trade mark and logo licensing, certification services, the members portal, termination, liability, indemnity, confidentiality and data protection, and state that payments are non-refundable and non-transferable.
Review and renewal. The published membership terms state that a one-off certification service allows use of the 'CPD Certified' trade mark "for a period of 12 months" (or such other period as the organisation determines) on the materials submitted and approved, after which the member is no longer entitled to use the certification unless the contract is renewed. The same terms state that members are required to keep certified materials up to date, and that where they are not, the organisation reserves the right to withdraw certification on a case-by-case basis and/or require resubmission for assessment and recertification.
Verification. The website publishes a searchable CPD Provider directory and a CPD Courses Catalogue. Individual provider pages display a CPD Provider number; the Loughborough University – Design School page displays "CPD Provider No: 14097". We looked for a statement that individual accredited courses or activities carry a unique accreditation or certification number, on the home, become-accredited, what-is-cpd-accreditation, FAQs, providers and courses pages, and did not find one on the pages reviewed.
Privacy and complaints. A Privacy and Cookies Policy is published with an effective date of March 2024. We looked for a published complaints policy or complaints procedure covering the accreditation service, on the home, contact, legal information, terms, membership terms and privacy pages and in the footer legal menu, and did not find one on the pages reviewed. The Privacy Policy states that a complaint may be made to the Information Commissioner's Office in relation to data protection matters.
Website status. All pages listed below were reachable and served over HTTPS on 23 July 2026, and carried current content, including news items dated 22 July 2026.
Data protection registration. The Legal Information page publishes an ICO number, ZA336789. The Privacy Policy states that the company is registered as a data controller with the Information Commissioner's Office under registration number ZA336789. This has been verified.
Recorded as context, not assessed: the CPD Courses Catalogue page displayed the figure 37,837 CPD courses; the home page displayed a figure of over 40,000 CPD providers, courses and events published on the website; and 29 industry sectors are listed in the site navigation.
