This course is designed to enable learners to recognise life threatening emergencies, provide Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation, relieve choking, recognise anaphylaxis and use an Automated external defibrillator . It combines classroom learning, with hands on practice followed by assessment using scenarios. The course duration is approximately 3 hours depending on class size / number of attendees.

This course covers the knowledge and skillsto carry out Venepuncture/ phlebotomy. It ishowever the learners responsibility to be signed off as competent in their clinical setting before practising independently.The course consists of a work book, anatomy and physiology relating to taking blood, infection control, health and safety.You will also undertake simulated practice on a practice arm.

Our ear irrigation course is suitablefor Registered Nurses and Healthcare workersWho will be carrying out ear irrigation in practice.It is aimed to equip the Nurse/ healthcare worker withthe knowledge and skills to be able to carryoutear irrigation safely using electronic equipment.The course consists of theory, workbook and and clinical skills using otoscope and electronic ear irrigator.followed by assessment.You will need a period of supervised practice following the course to gain competency.The course will cover anatomy and physiology of the ear,common ear problems, assessment, contraindications,Accountability, documentation and practical procedure.

Catheterisation the insertion of a flexible tube into the bladder to drain urine.This course goes through the anatomy and physiologyof the renal system associated with catheterisation.It comprises of a work book, classroom theoryand practice via simulator.At the end of the day you will be given a competence documentto complete in practice / work areas to be signed off bya competent person.The theory and practice are carried out byour trainers in the workplace or at a venueclose to the work base. Trainers travel nationwide.

Level 2 food hygiene is suitable for all food handlers in any environment.We provide face to face classroom based training which includespractical use of equipment and scenarios. We travel to your workplace or home to minimise travel time. This course is for Nurses, Assistant Practitioners, Associate Nurses and other professionals.Classroom based face to face session with scenarios exploring what a good death entails, examining the various strategies for end of life care, planning end of life care in your work area. Looking at advance care plans and the wishes of the individual. Why are we afraid to speak to clients/ patients/ service users about death?

This course consists of a workbook and classroom attendance of 1 day. Assessment is continualthroughout the day including practical Scenarios.

This course is aimed at Senior carers and managers in health and social care who administer and have experience ofmedication administration (level 2 may be helpful).It describes key legislation, Policy and procedure along with drug classification.It explores consent, covert medication and confidentiality.It explains the type of medication, route, side effects and contraindications along with refusal to take medications.Documentation and recording including errors and reporting are an integral part of this course along with accountability.Assessment- A written question paper to include simple drug calculations and short answer questions.This will be followed by assessment in the practice/ work environment before being signed as competent.
