This is a 5 day course 0900-1630 daily covering the Skill set required to become an Interpersonal Conflict Mediator. It will allow successful applicants to deliver workplace conflict, interpersonal conflict, community conflict and a plethora of other areas of conflict resolution but not Family Mediation, SEND or Civil/Commercial mediation. The course will have some homework and a post course written Assessment.
This course delivers a number of skills utilised by Mediators to help people solve conflict. Designed with Professionals in mind who deal with community issues such as Housing Officers, ASB Officers, Community Safety Officers etc. It doesn't not deliver a full mediation qualification but hones the skills of those dealing with conflict and work or in the community.
This course will provide a deeper understanding of the skills and blocks to successful Active Listening. It includes a number of practical exercises.
This course aims to provide an understanding how Unconscious Bias operates in the workplace. Delegates will find out what unconscious bias is (and is not) and learn how it can undermine relationships. The course offers the opportunity to increase understanding, self-awareness and learn new information. Delegates will gain the skills to equip them to begin to address individual and organisational biases with confidence. Students will be provided with a full copy of the course presentation in the form of slide notes pages. There are no prerequisites for this course.
The course covers how to manage conflict in the workplace. What types of conflict are the and how does it start. What are the signs and how to understand the conflict styles. Understand Active listening, body language and facilitating a difficult conversation.
