Overview for Self-Harm Emergencies (SHE)

A brief description about this Activity.

This course is based around a person who has attempted self-harm, and gives staff the confidence on how to act in an emergency and provide immediate care until an ambulance arrives. This course is not a first aid course, but gives learner confidence managing the below incidents: Module 1 – Anti-Ligature Module 2 – Poisons and Overdoses including safe administration of Naloxone Spray Module 3 – management of Bleeding Module 4 – Head Trauma This course does cover descriptions and graphic images of incidents, including practical elements. The nature of this course is sensitive and we will always advice that attendees are aware prior to the course. Our Instructors are experienced medical experts and most have dealt or worked with most/all of the below incidents. They will be available to assist the attendees should they need to speak to someone during the course in confidence.
