About This Webinar
This is the third masterclass in the Climate Transition Plan Masterclass Series, providing a practical, expert-led look at the final two steps of building a credible transition plan: translating strategy into action and embedding governance to monitor and communicate progress. It covers how to identify decarbonisation levers, assess their cost and feasibility, and build a clear implementation roadmap, alongside the governance structures, KPIs, and communication practices needed to keep a transition plan credible over time. This session also shows how implementation depends on a company's maturity level, and outlines the typical challenges organisations face when moving from strategy to execution.
Summary
This is the third masterclass in the Climate Transition Plan Masterclass Series, providing a practical, expert-led look at the final two steps of the four-step transition plan methodology: translating strategy into action, and monitoring, governing, and communicating progress.
It focuses on applied learning, using real-world examples of roadmaps, timelines, and maturity assessments to show how organisations can move from strategy to execution and long-term accountability.
You will learn how to:
◆ Identify key decarbonisation levers and assess their cost, feasibility, and financing needs
◆ Develop a clear implementation roadmap with defined ownership and timelines
◆ Define KPIs, governance structures, and review cycles to monitor progress
◆ Communicate climate commitments effectively, both internally and externally
◆ Recognise how a company's maturity level shapes its implementation priorities and typical challenges
Learning Outcomes
By completing this masterclass, you will build practical capability in translating a transition strategy into action and embedding the governance needed to sustain it.
Step 3: Translating Strategy into Action
◆ Identify key decarbonisation levers, such as energy efficiency, renewable energy, fleet optimisation, and supplier engagement
◆ Assess the impact, cost, and feasibility of each lever, including CapEx requirements and funding strategy
◆ Develop a clear implementation roadmap that splits levers into short, medium, and long-term activities, with defined owners and timeframes
Step 4: Monitoring, Governing, and Communicating Progress
◆ Define specific KPIs per decarbonisation lever, and establish clear oversight and individual responsibilities
◆ Develop a regular review cycle and escalation procedures, and consider linking implementation to executive remuneration
◆ Communicate climate commitments internally, to build engagement, and externally, so banks, investors, and clients can access this information
◆ Review the plan over time while maintaining, rather than reducing, its ambition
Applying This to Your Organisation
◆ Recognise how implementation priorities differ depending on a company's maturity level across GHG accounting, climate risk assessment, and transition planning
◆ Identify typical challenges in building and embedding a transition plan, including data reliability, target relevance, and integration with strategy and remuneration
