Understanding How to Support Children and Young People Who Have Experienced Harm or Abuse is a one-day training programme designed to equip practitioners with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to safeguard and support vulnerable children and young people.

The course explores the roles and responsibilities of practitioners and partner agencies, appropriate responses to disclosures, and strategies to provide effective support for recovery. Learners will also examine the restrictions that may be placed on family or key individuals to protect children, and reflect on the importance of practitioner wellbeing when working with challenging and sensitive cases.

Through case studies, practical activities, and reflective exercises, participants will develop a deeper understanding of safeguarding practice and strengthen their ability to provide safe, compassionate, and professional support to children and young people who have experienced harm or abuse.
