CPD FOUNDATION IN MENTAL HEALTH LITERACY

Foundation in Mental Health Literacy (FMHL) is an introductory, non‑clinical professional development program that builds essential understanding of mental health concepts, distress indicators, stigma reduction, and supportive communication. The course provides a safe, accessible starting point for learners who want to improve their confidence in recognising and responding to mental health concerns within appropriate boundaries. FMHL prepares participants for further training such as ELFA, FAinMH PFA, and First Aid in Mental Health.

Prerequisites:
• Minimum age: 18+
• Functional English literacy
• Currently working or volunteering in a people‑facing role (community, education, support, workplace, customer‑facing, etc.)
• RPL accepted for relevant experience
• WWVP/WWCC not required, as this is a non‑clinical literacy program
